Workshop to cover benefits of solar power

With few mature trees in its newer subdivisions, American Canyon is an ideal place to install solar energy systems. There will be a free workshop that'll inform residents about the benefits of installing solar panels. The workshop will be at the American Canyon Recreation Center, 2185 Elliott Drive at 1:00 p.m. Feb. 6.

San Francisco Affordable Housing Sites Power On Solar Energy

Intel to install rooftop solar panels

Intel Corp. will be installing rooftop solar panels at its Ocotillo and Chandler Boulevard complexes in Chandler as part of a companywide solar power initiative.

The company plans to install a total of 2.5 megawatts of solar generating capacity at eight locations in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Oregon during the next seven months.

More than 160 solar power firms for energy summit

More than 160 of the world's largest solar power companies will participate in the World Future Energy Summit that will begin on January 18. It will include: ABB, Suntech, GE Energy, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Brisban Solar, Azur Solar, SolarOne, Canadian Solar, Oerlikon Solar, BP Alternative Energy, Acciona, Yingli Green Energy, Solaria and Terna Energy. Summit discussions will cover solar energy in depth, and there will be a dedicated session on advanced solar technologies, materials and costs

Student helps develop solar power system


The work of a University of Scranton student from Tunkhannock is helping the school save energy and even earn some revenue. Ben Redan is a junior biochemistry major at the school. Over the past few months, he has been part of a project that uses solar power to provide lighting and security at one of the university's parking lots.

Maryland’s Largest Single Rooftop Solar Power Installation Unveiled at Staples Fulfillment Center in Hanover

Staples, the world's largest office products company and SunEdison, North America’s largest solar energy services provider and a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials , hosted a dedication ceremony today to unveil the largest single rooftop solar power installation in Maryland at Staples’ 200,200 square foot fulfillment center in Hanover. The 1.01 megawatt solar installation covers nearly 175,000 square feet of roof space, larger than three football fields. This is the latest example of Staples’ ongoing commitment to environmental leadership.

2010 International Consumer Electronics Show

The international Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is the world’s largest consumer technology trade show. The 2010 one begins tomorrow January 7th. It is an eco-friendly electronics show.
Although it may not be open to the public but rest assured that there will be over 20,000 products shown by 2,500 companies. Hopefully some of which are available or will be available for the public in the future.
