Understanding Solar Energy

This article illustrates the subtle concepts of different solar aspects. Solar conversion is a process that utilizes mirrors and reflectors to capture sunlight and energy. They can then store the energy and heat and use it for futures uses. The article is just a very interesting one and it explains how the different processes work.

China racing ahead of United States in the drive to go solar

China is really increasing their efforts in becoming entirely reliant on solar technology. China has been selling products at or below market value in order to gain market share in the U.S. Even though China is really increasing their efforts, there is still much to be done. They are also building an assembly plant in the U.S.

Solar Energy Breakthrough Could Cut Costs by 50%

This is an intriguing article that is talking about how a revolutionary solar panel, that is being worked on, will be able to cut costs by at least 50% and increase the efficiency in solar technology. It has a lighter weight and is therefore able to have more precise coordinates than a bigger solar panel. Plans are going well as there are already plans for a new 200M plant in New Mexico City. Hopes are that it will have a big impact on the Middle East region in late 2009 and then spread across the world from there.

DEK Solar to showcase breakthrough solar metallization advances at EU

This article illustrates how DEK Solar is showing a new metallization program that will help cut down on work and wasted energy. They are basically printers that are operated with solar energy and they obviously will cut down on wasted energy. They can also substantially increase the daily production of the average printer and and they are also more accurate on a higher volume than your average printer. They are also still working on a program as to where it will lower the costs and (obviously) maximize profits.

Candy-Colored Solar Panels Don't Need Direct Sun

A "green" technology company has developed jewel-toned solar panels that capture different parts of the sun's light spectrum and don't need direct sunlight to work, the company says. But until their panels actually hit the market, it remains to be seen whether the company's colorful vision will become a reality.

'Major Discovery' from MIT primed to unleash solar revolution

This article is interesting because it introduces a new concept: storing energy when the sun is not out. This is especially interesting because it conserves a ton of energy. It uses strictly non-toxic items and it will attract the energy of sun directly. The key concepts they use are different catalysts that spur the movement and that use the direct correlation of energy and the sun. This is a winning equation and has grown leaps and bounds so far.

Will nano flakes revolutionize solar energy?

This article is illustrating why nano flakes are going to make things easier in the future and why we should use them. As of right now, they can convert higher rates of percentage from nano flakes than regular solar panels. They can currently convert about 30% of solar energy as compared to just 15%-20% than regular panels. Dr. Aagesen is currently promoting his invention of nano flakes but it has received mixed reviews as of today. Aagesen is undeterred and will continue to fine tune his invention.
