"Illegal parkers, beware: San Diego, California is watching you. The city is replacing 1% of its 5,100 parking meters with solar-powered versions as part of a pilot program to test the technology."

These new meters seem like a great idea, especially since that area is known to be called "Sunny San Diego." I'm sure those parking meters will never run out of juice!

Solar Arcadia's Vision!

Solar Arcadia began with a clear and simple vision to bring solar technology together with portable electronic devices. Our concept derives from the philosophy that the Earth’s living matter, air, oceans, and land are inherently connected and are a single entity. It’s all of our responsibility to nurture, protect, and respect our planet, our natural resources, and all of our inhabitants. And, by doing so, we improve our lives today and for those of future generations.

Solar Tree?!?!

Ok, it doesn't actually look like a real tree but it does have a similar use.

"The Solar Tree offers a realistic solution to existing structures. Even a small backyard will have room for one of these. It provides it's own shade, so that's a plus on a hot day.

While you are staying cool beneath, the swing-out panels are absorbing the sun's energy and converting it into electricity that you can use. When night comes, just fold it back. It even has you covered if you decide to move as it's easy to bring it with you.

The Solar Tree will give you shade up to 16 square meters. It's a simple ideal solution."
